McKeough Land Company Announces Lowe’s Ferry’s Grand Opening Sale

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

(PRWEB) June 19, 2007 — McKeough Land Company is hosting a grand-opening event Saturday, June 23rd at Lowe’s Ferry, a gated community located on the shores of Fort Loudoun Lake. The grand opening celebrates the completion of the development’s Phase 1 construction project, and guests are invited to enjoy food, refreshments, and boat rides as they tour the property.

Lakefront, lake-view, and lake-access lots up to three acres will be available at the event, and significant discounts are being offered on all June 23rd purchases. After-discount prices start at $89,900 for interior homesites and $199,900 for waterfront parcels.

Lowe’s Ferry is a 300-acre gated community comprising undisturbed wooded areas and an array of nature trails and open fields. Billed as an active-lifestyle community, the property is situated on 14,600-acre Fort Loudoun Lake, which offers boating, swimming, sailing, waterskiing, and fishing. Additional amenities include a community clubhouse with swimming pool, beach area, and proposed 44-slip marina.

Scott Harestad, McKeough Land Company’s general manager for Tennessee and Kentucky, said Lowe’s Ferry is unique in that the marina, scheduled for completion in early 2008, was put on one of the best lakefront lots available. “We sacrificed a $600,000 homesite to develop the yacht club location,” he said. “But we knew that if we wanted every property owner to have access to the water, that’s the way we had to go.”

Asked why someone should consider buying waterfront property at Lowe’s Ferry, Harestad replied, “People are still looking for value in waterfront property, and the property taxes are about a fifth of what they are in other markets like Florida. Plus there’s no state income tax in Tennessee.”

Because Lowe’s Ferry is only 15 minutes from downtown Knoxville, owners will find themselves near fine dining, a burgeoning music scene, and an array of visual and performing arts. Additionally, McGhee Tyson Airport and two regional malls are all within 15 miles of Lowe’s Ferry. “It’s out of the way,” Harestad said of Lowe’s Ferry. “But still close enough for you to get to everything.”

Lowe’s Ferry homesites are shown by appointment only and preferred appointment times for Saturday, June 23rd are limited. Call (800) 351-5263 to arrange your visit or go to www.lowesferry.com for more information.

Beautiful Lakefront Land at Lowe’s Ferry

Land Owner’s Story
by Allan and Kathleen, owners at Lowe’s Ferry.

We went to visit some friends in Knoxville and weren’t quite sure what to expect. After three days there, we were blown away by how beautiful the area was and I said to my wife, “I would love to move to Tennessee.” It’s not as cold as New Jersey (where we’re originally from) but not as hot as Florida. One day we got a flyer from McKeough Land Company advertising a pre-construction sale at Lowe’s Ferry. I called my friend from Knoxville and asked him to take his boat over to see the property. He called me back and said, “This is the most beautiful property. People around here have been waiting for it to go up for sale for a long time.”I talked to a land consultant from McKeough Land Company and he took me up for a tour. I found a beautiful lakefront lot and had to have it. I already bought a boat and I don’t even have a dock yet! We want to start building by August (the plans should be finished within the next two weeks) and are going to try to spend at least six months a year there for the first two years. After that, we’re going to play it by ear, but it’s definitely going to be our vacation property.

I’ve always wanted waterfront land and Lowe’s Ferry is perfect for us. We love the more moderate temperature and how everyone knows everyone. It’s awesome. People there are just really nice. And our neighbors in Florida are thinking about coming up to look at the property. Overall, it was a really good experience and the people from McKeough did everything first-class.
